When Jerry Desjardins comes into work every day, he comes in with the mindset of helping customers however he can. He enjoys troubleshooting issues, providing solutions, and coaching his fellow co-workers on best practices. What he didn't realize was that his efforts were being recognized.
This year, Jerry was chosen to receive the HDI Analyst of the Year Award, representing the Northern New England Chapter covering Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. This is a great accomplishment and, after seven years of working with Systems Engineering's Help Desk team, one that Jerry did not anticipate or expect.
In order to be recognized and chosen to receive the award, many skills had to be accomplished. Ideal candidates have to exemplify the following:
- Technical aptitude
- Team orientation
- Proactive leadership abilities
- Excellence in customer service
- Positive attitude
In addition, the award recognizes those who demonstrate a shared knowledge with co-workers to assist in developing problem solving techniques that can be utilized by all team members. Jerry does just that, and more.
"Jerry is well deserving of this recognition for his commitment, dedication, and service to his team and to our customers, both internally and externally," said Tom Houlette, Help Desk Manager. "This award recognizes support analysts that exemplify the 'best-of-the-best' in the industry."
Jerry will now move onto the northeast regional competition where the winner advances to the national competition.
